Eventually the conversation turns to your current adventure. The Viscount says he has sent expeditions into nearby caves before, but most of them turn back. They're rebuffed either by the caves' monstrous inhabitants, or by the caves themselves. He offers some advice.
"If you've never been caving before, it pays to be prepared. It gets dark quickly! Be sure to bring light or you won't get far at all."
After that, conversation continues on other topics.
